In January 2020, Jaycee Vallier, a vibrant and courageous young girl, was diagnosed with brain cancer. This devastating news changed her family's life in an instant. Despite the immense challenges of her treatment journey, Jaycee's resilience and the overwhelming love and support from her community helped her find strength and joy in every day. Small acts of kindness—like receiving cards, letters, and a box of goodies—brought smiles to Jaycee's face and comfort to her heart.
Inspired by this, the Vallier family decided to give back and created BattleCorn Care Packages a foundation dedicated to sending love to children fighting cancer. Even after Jaycee sadly gained her angel wings in 2021, her legacy of kindness continues to shine through the foundation. Since its inception, BattleCorn Care Packages has delivered numerous packages to children across the United States, while also supporting hospitals, pediatric cancer research, and advocacy efforts.
Each year, BattleCorn Care Packages hosts a Gold Tie Gala to raise funds for the childhood cancer community. This year, we are honored to announce that Oncoheroes Biosciences was selected as its benefactor. Thanks to this grant by BattleCorn Care Packages, Oncoheroes is advancing toward launching the international clinical trial for our lead compound, volasertib. This trial will evaluate the efficacy of volasertib in treating five types of pediatric cancers.
