Oncodaily launches the First Global Telethon to Raise Funds for Pediatric Cancer

On February 15th, to commemorate International Childhood Cancer Day, Oncodaily, a specialized oncology media outlet, is set to host its first Oncothon, a groundbreaking telethon exclusively dedicated to childhood cancer. This unprecedented 24-hour worldwide event aims to raise essential funds to support an international clinical trial designed to test Oncoheroes’ lead compound, Volasertib, across five pediatric cancer indications (Ewing sarcoma, medulloblastoma, neuroblastoma, alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma and diffuse midline glioma (DMG), including diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG)).

This ambitious endeavour targets over 100 patients who have exhausted available treatments and spans approximately 20 global sites. Led by KiTZ Hopp Children's Cancer Center Heidelberg, this clinical trial marks a significant step toward conducting the first comprehensive pediatric evaluation of this promising compound. Its success would lay the groundwork for a subsequent global registration trial in the most suitable pediatric indication.

During the Oncothon, donations worldwide will be channeled through Ally Anderson Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma Research Fund supported by Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation.
